Elements and Performance Criteria

  1. Respond to aviation emergency
  2. Access to aviation incident is based on airport and aircraft knowledge and use of maps, plans and diagrams
  3. Equipment is selected and used to achieve aviation incident objectives, strategies and tactics
  4. Evacuate persons and attend to casualties
  5. Equipment is selected and located to facilitate evacuation and rescue
  6. Appropriate rescue techniques are used to release trapped persons
  7. Evacuees are moved and/or directed to a safe area, in accordance with organisational procedures
  8. Conduct aviation emergencyoperations
  9. Changing conditions are evaluated and any changes to tactics is communicated through the chain of command, in accordance with organisational procedures
  10. Operations are carried out, in accordance with organisational procedures
  11. Ongoing liaison is conducted with emergency services and relevant authorities, in accordance with organisational procedures
  12. Conclude aviation emergencyoperations
  13. Any damage to the aircraft, caused by forcible entry is recorded and reported, in accordance with organisational procedures
  14. At conclusion of aviation incident responsibility for the site is transferred to relevant authority
